Managing your Web Site

Q: How do I get reverse lookups in my stats?

We have added the ability for users to run reverse lookups on the IP addresses found in their weblogs. This allows you to see names instead of numbers when it comes to who has visited your web site. In addition, the country graph will begin to function.

To enable reverse lookups, open your webalizer.conf file in your webstats directory and add these two lines:

DNSChildren 10
DNSCache dns_cache.db
That night, webalizer will start to run the reverse lookups on your weblogs.

Please note that if you have a very busy site, this feature uses a lot of resources. Please don't turn it on unless you really need it.
